Since debuting to the masses last summer, the *venture x business* has proved to be a wildly popular addition to the wallets of many business owners.

The only hang-up? Earning the card's big sign-up bonus required an equally big chunk of spending – $30,000 in the first three months, to be exact.

Not anymore: Capital One is out with a new, tiered welcome bonus offer that should be much easier for many businesses to earn … and if your company regularly spends a lot, the offer is even sweeter for you. Here's how it works:

  • Earn 150,000 miles once you spend $20,000 in the first three months from account opening.
  • Earn an additional 150,000 miles (for 300,000 miles in total) once you spend $100,000 in the first six months from account opening.

If you're able to meet both of these spending requirements in the first six months and earn the full bonus, you'll have over half a million Capital One Venture miles when all is said and done. That's because like all of Capital One's travel rewards cards, the Venture X Business card earns an unlimited 2x miles on every purchase. So in addition to the 300,000 miles you'll earn from the bonus, you'll also earn a minimum of 200,000 miles on all that spending.

Even if you only qualify for the 150,000-mile bonus, this is still a fantastic offer and one that requires less spending than it did yesterday. Considering tax season is right around the corner, most businesses will have little issue meeting the card's $20,000 spending requirement without needing to get creative.

OK, OK … enough about the card's massive bonus offer – there's a lot more to love about this card than a big pile of points. You'll also get an annual $300 travel credit, 10,000 bonus miles each year on your card member anniversary (starting in year two), reimbursement for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, and top-notch airport lounge access. With a modest $395 annual fee, it's almost as if Capital One is paying business owners to get the card.

If this all sounds good but you don't think your business will qualify, you might be surprised to learn what the banks consider a small business. Odds are if you have any side hustle, do consulting work, or even sell items on Facebook or eBay you'd be eligible.

But remember, credit cards are serious business: You should never apply for a credit card if you're already in debt, and never charge more to a credit card than you can afford to pay off immediately. That's especially true when looking at business credit cards with spending requirements as high as this one. The key here is to not go out of your way to earn the bonus by spending money unnecessarily.

Here's everything you need to know about the Capital One Venture X Business Card and its giant welcome offer.

Annual $300 Travel Credit

Each year of card membership, Venture X Business cardholders will get up to $300 in travel credits to use for Capital One Travel bookings. Just use your card to book flights, hotels, or rental cars through the Capital One Travel portal, and the $300 travel credit will be automatically applied as a discount at checkout.

While we typically steer clear of third-party sites and online travel agencies, Capital One has added some awesome new features to their portal that can turn that logic on its head. Using the annual travel credit that comes with the Venture X Business Card isn't quite as simple as making a purchase and getting it refunded, but with a little effort, you shouldn't have too much trouble putting it to good use.

And best of all, this travel credit goes a long way to offset the card's annual fee. Think of it this way: Do you plan to spend $300 or more on travel each year? Then this card's annual fee isn't $395 – it's more like $95.

Airport Lounge Access

Whether you're traveling for work or heading off on vacation, few things make your travel experience better than having access to an airport lounge. And while you can still get into lounges the hard way – by flying up front on an expensive business or first class ticket or purchasing an airline lounge membership – the Venture X Business Card provides cardholders a far easier path to entry.

Just like the personal version, the Venture X Business Card will get you access to the outstanding Capital One Lounges, Plaza Premium Lounges, and a Priority Pass Select membership to get you into more than 1,300 lounges across the globe.

Capital One now has three of its own branded airport lounges open in Dallas (DFW), Washington, D.C.-Dulles (IAD), and Denver (DEN). The only other confirmed Capital One Lounge in the pipeline is slated for Las Vegas (LAS), but an exact timeline for construction and opening hasn't been announced.

And while the personal Venture X card lost access to Priority Pass Restaurants late last year, the Venture X Business will still get you and two guests a dining credit at any Priority Pass Restaurant around the globe. This can be especially useful for domestic travelers as many airports in the U.S. lack a good Priority Pass lounge.

Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Credit

Add the Capital One Venture X Business to the growing list of credit cards offering up to a $100 credit for either TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. Membership in either program is good for five years and Venture X Business cardholders will get to use this credit every four years to ensure they get their renewal done before it expires.

If you plan for any sort of international travel, spring for Global Entry as it automatically includes a TSA PreCheck membership. At just $100, the statement credit provided by the Venture X Business credit card will completely cover your membership cost for as long as you keep the card open.

Taking advantage of this credit is simple. Just use the card when you pay for your application and voilà: Your credit will kick in to cover the entire cost.

10,000 Venture Mile Anniversary Bonus

Each and every year on your account anniversary, you'll receive 10,000 bonus Venture miles after paying your card's annual fee.

These miles are worth a minimum of $100 towards travel – and potentially much more by utilizing the Capital One transfer partners. You won't get this right when you open the card: This benefit starts in your second year and each year after that. This is just another way to get more value out of your Venture X Business card and easily offset the card's annual fee.

If our experience with the anniversary miles on the Capital One Venture X Card is any indication, you can expect this 10,000-mile bonus to be deposited about a month or two after paying your annual fee.

Venture X Business Card Welcome Offer

The Venture X Business card's tiered-welcome offer of up to 300,000 Capital One miles is one of the biggest new card offers we've ever seen. Consider this: If your business can meet the card's (admittedly lofty) minimum spending requirement, you'd have at least half a million Capital One miles in your account!

And even if your business can't (or won't) spend the $100,000 in six months needed to earn the full offer, getting 150,000 Capital One miles after spending $20,000 in the first three months isn't a bad consolation prize. Since the previous offer on this card required $30,000 in spending for that same 150,000-mile bonus, this new offer is a win for business owners … no matter how you slice it.

So what can you do with that big of a bonus?

Thanks to the flexibility of Capital One miles, the Venture X Business Card's welcome offer can take you quite far … literally. And since the card earns 2x Capital One miles on all purchases, you'd have at least 190,000 miles upon completing the first part of the card's minimum spending requirement – worth a bare minimum of $1,900 towards travel.

If you qualified for the full bonus, you'd have 500,000 miles – worth at least $5,000 in travel. And you can use those miles for business or personal travel … your choice.

No other bank gives cardholders as many unique ways to use their miles as Capital One. How does a bucket list golf trip to Bandon Dunes, along Oregon's Pacific Coast sound? Or maybe you want to use them to cover an Airbnb Experience while on vacation?

Those are two great options, but you might be able to do even better by transferring your miles to one of Capital One's transfer partners like Virgin Atlantic and booking business class flights to Europe. Or even use them to set sail on a weeklong Mediterranean cruise.

No matter how you put that big bonus to use, it's a fantastic offer and the possibilities for what you can do with the miles are endless.

Our Analysis

Simply put, the Venture X Business is a must-have card for any business owner – big or small. It's nearly identical to the personal version of the card … and that's a good thing.

Since launching the consumer Venture X over two years ago, we've been questioning whether or not it's too good to be true. Now with a business version of the card, Capital One is doubling down on that success and targeting business owners. Specifically business owners with lots of monthly spending.

Sure there are cards out there that offer higher point earning in certain categories, but being able to get unlimited 2x Capital One miles on all purchases is a good thing for most any business owner. The simplicity of earning and redeeming miles with the Venture X Business makes it the perfect card for someone who doesn't have the time (or desire) to maximize every dollar spent.

Most of the time a credit card's big sign-up bonus is the main selling point – and the Capital One Venture X Business definitely comes with a big one. But even without the welcome offer, this is a card that's worth having and holding year after year for the travel perks and benefits alone. These top-notch travel perks make it the perfect one-size-fits-all solution and easily worth paying $395 per year for. And if you're able to earn the card's full 300,000-mile sign-up bonus, that's just the cherry on top.

Bottom Line

The *venture x business* is out with a new welcome offer that will be easier to earn for some small business owners… and offers more points for others. With up to 300,000 bonus miles on the table, unlimited 2x Capital One mile earning on all purchases, an annual $300 travel credit, excellent lounge access, and much more, this is a card that deserves a spot in the wallet of nearly any business owner.
