Capital One has made huge strides with its Venture Miles program over the past few years. What was once best known as a simple travel rewards program thanks to the popular Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card has become a jack-of-all-trades, appealing to everyone from beginner travelers to seasoned points and miles experts.
That started with the introduction of Capital One transfer partners, allowing travelers to send miles to airline and hotel partners a few years ago – a setup that drastically improved last year. And last fall, Capital One stuck a flag in the premium travel card market with the new Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card.
But behind all this buzz is a sneaky-good feature: The company gives you the almost-unparalleled ability to combine Capital One miles between accounts. That's true if you're looking to pool your miles between an old Venture Card and a new Venture X account. But you can also combine Venture miles between friends and family, too.
So how can you do it? How do you combine miles with other members – or between your own Capital One cards? We'll answer all these questions to help you understand exactly what is possible with your Capital One Venture Miles.

How to Combine Capital One Venture Miles Between Accounts
Throughout the Capital One ecosystem of points, you'll hear of two different currencies: Capital One Venture Miles and Capital One Spark Miles.
The difference is that Venture Miles are earned from personal credit cards like the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, and even the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card. Spark Miles are earned from Capital One business credit cards like the Capital One Spark Miles for Business Card and the Capital One Spark Miles Select for Business.
But the different names are meaningless. These miles are otherwise identical: They're worth the same amount and can be redeemed the same way through the Capital One Travel Portal, using points to cover travel charges, and also with the Capital One airline and hotel transfer partners.
And that means you can combine Spark Miles and Venture Miles into one balance. That's true if you are moving Venture Miles to Spark Miles and vice versa. The same is true if you're combining Venture Miles into one balance – say, from an old Venture Card to your new Venture X account.
The process to combine Capital One miles between accounts couldn't be easier. To get started, simply head to your Capital One online account and click on “Redeem” under the “Explore Rewards” block.
From here, you'll select the “Move Rewards” option, which allows you to transfer Capital One miles from one of your credit card accounts to another.
Assuming you have more than one Capital One account that earns either Venture or Spark Miles, you will be presented with a drop-down list of accounts you want to transfer miles to. Once you select your accounts, you'll be asked how many miles you want to transfer. You'll have the ability to transfer all of the miles or just some of the miles in your account.
Once you set up the transfer, the miles should be in the destination account instantly.
Can You Combine Miles Between the Venture and Venture X Cards?
If you already have a credit card that earns Capital One Venture Miles, like the Capital One Venture Card, you can easily combine the miles with a new account, like the Capital One Venture X card. You'll use the exact same method laid out above.
Doing so is a great way to keep your miles intact if you decide to close an older card with a balance of miles.
For example, if you currently have the Capital One Venture Card with 60,000 miles and decide to open the Venture X Card, you can easily transfer those 60,000 miles over to the Venture X card before closing (or downgrading) your older Venture Card.

Can You Combine Capital One Savor Cash Back with Venture or Spark Miles?
Think of the Capital One Savor Rewards Credit Card as the cash back equivalent of the Capital One Venture Card. It earns 4% cash back on dining, entertainment, and streaming services, 3% cash back at grocery stores, and 1% back on all other purchases. The card has a $95 annual fee.
Then there is the no annual fee Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards for Good Credit which earns 3% cash back on dining, entertainment, streaming services, grocery stores (excluding superstores like Walmart® and Target®), and 1% back on all other purchases.
If you hold one of these cards alongside a card that earns Venture or Spark Miles, you can transfer those cashback bonuses into miles: 1 cent equals 1 mile. So if you have $500 of accrued cash back, you could turn that into 50,000 Venture or Spark miles. To do so, use the same “Move Rewards” function outlined above.
Both cards make a great companion card to either the Venture or Venture X cards as you can use the Savor cards in categories that earn increased cash back and then ultimately turn them into Venture Miles.
How to Share Capital One Miles with Other Cardholders
One of the best things about Capital One Miles is how flexible they are. They can easily be shared with any other Venture or Spark Miles cardholder.
There is no limit on the number of miles that can be transferred and there is no requirement that the person you are sharing miles with lives at your address or is related in any way.
Here are the basics:
- You can transfer Capital One miles to other members as long as they have a credit card that earns Venture Miles or Spark Miles
- There is no requirement that the person you are transferring miles to lives at the same address or is related to you in any way.
- There is no cap on the number of miles that can be shared with other Capital One Venture or Spark Miles cardholders.
- There are no expiration dates or other major restrictions on miles that are transferred to other cardholders.
To make these transfers, you will need to call the number on the back of your Capital One Card. There isn't a way to do this in your online account currently. You'll just need the name and card number of the person's account you are transferring to.
How Does This Policy Stack Up Against Other Banks?
It doesn't get any better than this.
When it comes to transferable points currencies like Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points, and Capital One Venture Miles, Capital One has the most generous policy about combining points with other cardmembers and it isn't particularly close.
- American Express doesn't allow you to combine Membership Rewards points with other members in any fashion, though you can transfer Amex points to an authorized user's frequent flyer or hotel loyalty account.
- Chase allows you to transfer Ultimate Rewards points to other members of your household, so long as they share the same billing address on their Chase account.Â
- Citi allows you to transfer ThankYou points to any other person who also holds a card that earns ThankYou points. But there is a catch: Once the points are transferred from one ThankYou account to another, they will expire in 90 days – and there is nothing you can do to extend the expiration date. That means it's only a good idea to transfer when you're about to use those points for a redemption.

Can I transfer SavorOne points to another persons Venture account?
I think that is possible, but call Capital One and let us know what you find out.
Can you transfer Cap 1 miles to the SPOUSES’s Turkish Airlines account? The spouse is an authorized user but does not have any Cap 1 credit cards on his own… You can easily do such transfers with Chase (not to TK but other airline programs).
Unfortunately, no – you cannot transfer to another person’s frequent flyer account.
