Fresh on the heels of announcing a big expansion of luxury hotels in Mexico earlier this year, Hyatt is going back to the same well for its next slate of new properties in the popular vacation destination.

On Monday, the Chicago-based hotel chain announced four new hotels coming to Mexico that are expected to open over the next three years. The list includes two Grand Hyatt hotels, a new property next to the busy Cancun Airport (CUN), and the company's third flagship Park Hyatt location in Mexico, which is known for stellar service and top-notch finishes.

  • The Park Hyatt Cancun is expected to open in 2025
  • Come 2025, Hyatt plans to open the Grand Hyatt Mexico Santa Fe on the southwest side of Mexico City
  • Located not far from downtown Cabo San Lucas, Grand Hyatt Los Cabos is slated to open in 2026
  • The Hyatt Place Cancun Airport will be just a short 10-minute drive from CUN when it opens in late 2026

In all, it's yet another expansion in a country where Hyatt has been steadily growing over the past few years.

Hyatt is practically beloved among many travelers for its World of Hyatt points, which go much further than the likes of Hilton Honors or Marriott Bonvoy – even after Hyatt raised award rates at 200-plus properties worldwide earlier this year.

Read on for more details about these exciting new Hyatt properties coming to Mexico.

Park Hyatt Cancun

The Park Hyatt Cancun is expected to open in 2025, and Hyatt describes the new luxury property as a “sophisticated resort [that] will offer beachfront access, immersive and rare culinary experiences, bars, and lounges, and more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space including a 2,000-square-foot ballroom.”

A Hyatt spokesperson confirmed that the new Park Hyatt Cancun will be located “25 minutes south of Cancun’s Hotel Zone and north of Riviera Maya.” If you're familiar with the area, it should be in the same general area as the Waldorf Astoria Cancun which opened its doors late last year.

The Park Hyatt Cancun will be the hotel chain's third Park Hyatt in Mexico once it opens – following the Park Hyatt Los Cabos which is expected to open in late 2024, and the Park Hyatt Mexico City which is also set to make its debut in 2025.

Grand Hyatt Los Cabos

The Grand Hyatt Los Cabos is expected to open in 2026 and will be situated within the OLEADA Pacific Living & Golf private resort community, which is about a 30-minute drive from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), and about a 15-minute drive from downtown Cabo San Lucas.

The 300-room property will have multiple restaurants and bars serving signature cocktails and cuisine. It will also play host to a “world-class 18-hole golf course designed by Golf Hall of Famer, Erie Els,” according to a Hyatt news release.

If the renderings of the property are any indication, the Grand Hyatt Los Cabos will be a stunner.

Grand Hyatt Mexico Santa Fe

The 287-room Grand Hyatt Mexico Sante Fe in Mexico City is slated to open in 2025 and will be the first urban Grand Hyatt property in Mexico and the second Grand Hyatt hotel in the region.

The new hotel will be a part of the new mixed-use Distrito Santa Fe development on the southwest side of Mexico City. According to Hyatt, the property will be an integral part of the new development and offer 360-degree views of the city and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Hyatt Place Cancun Airport

Last but not least, Hyatt plans to open the 156-room Hyatt Place Cancun Airport in late 2026. The property will be located just a short ten-minute drive from Cancun International Airport (CUN).

Bottom Line

Hyatt Hotels is continuing its expansion into the Mexico market with the announcement of four new hotels set to open by the end of 2026.

The Park Hyatt Cancun and the Grand Hotel Mexico Sante Fe are slated to open their doors in 2025, while the Grand Hyatt Los Cabos and the Hyatt Place Cancun Airport will open by the end of 2026.
