Got a stash of Hilton Honors points? Or Hilton free night award certificates from credit cards like the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card? Here's your chance to book a stay this fall or winter at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal – one of the best points hotels in Mexico and one of our absolute favorites.
Travel on Point(s) recently posted that a member of their Facebook community discovered a scattering of standard room award availability throughout the rest of the year and even into January 2024 for just 120,000 Hilton Honors points per night. That's as good as it gets for this high-end property, which rarely sees more than a few days a month of award availability like this – if any.

Critically, that price point also means you can book with a Hilton free night certificate … and this pricey property is a great way to use them, especially since they're now eligible to use any day of the week, not just weekends. Considering you won't find a night bookable for less than $1,000 if paying cash, this is a great deal using Hilton points.
Plus, travelers with any level of Hilton status can book five nights and only pay for four thanks to Hilton's fifth night free on award bookings. That means a five-night stay would cost you 480,000 Hilton Honors points or 96,000 points per night.
Thrifty Tip: Got *amex platinum card*? That comes with complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status, which unlocks a fifth night free on award stays plus free breakfast – a huge money-saver at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal.
Here's everything you need to know if you are thinking about booking this deal.
How to Book the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal
- There is now standard room award availability at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal on select days through the end of the year and into January 2024, as of publication.
- This makes it possible to book free nights for 120,000 Hilton Honors points or apply free night certificates earned from certain Hilton credit cards.
- You won't find the 120,000-point-per-night standard room award availability for every day, but it's rare to find more than a couple of nights on the entire calendar bookable at that rate, so this is a great opportunity.
- If you have Hilton Honors Silver status (or higher), you can book five consecutive nights and only pay for four – a 20% savings per night.
How to Search for Availability with the Calendar View
To find dates with standard room award availability at 120,000, the easiest way is to search with the calendar view. But that is easier said than done, as Hilton doesn't make searching for award nights very intuitive.
But there is a way to quickly pull up a calendar view that will show you all the nights with standard room award availability.
After doing a quick search on Hilton's site, I randomly threw in dates for a stay.
From here, you can click on the date (Oct. 23 – 28), and it will pop open a full booking calendar. Make sure to select “Shop by Price” at the bottom of the calendar view. Once you've done that, you'll see a calendar view with all the bookable dates.
So long as you have the “Use Points & Money” box checked, it will display award rates for every day each month.

A Look at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedgregal
Using 120,000 points per night is solid – especially if you are using Hilton free night certificates, the fifth-night free benefit, or some combination of both. But what exactly are you getting with a standard room type at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal?
Let's just say that the rooms are anything but standard. I visited last April, and the rooms are fantastic.
We booked and stayed in a standard room which was roughly 900 square feet with a massive bathroom, a sitting area with a small fireplace, and a beautiful walk-out terrace with a small plunge pool that was kept at around 80 degrees. The rooms look great, especially the wood beam ceilings.
