If you're like us and think Hyatt is the best hotel rewards program, then we've got good news. Chase just rolled out new, limited-time offers on both the personal World of Hyatt Credit Card and the *world of hyatt business*, allowing you to earn up to 75,000 World of Hyatt points.
But exactly how many points you can earn depends on which card you pick – and how much you spend. Here's how it breaks down:
- With the personal World of Hyatt Credit Card, you can earn up to 65,000 World of Hyatt points total. You'll get 35,000 points after spending $3,000 within the first three months of account opening. Plus, you can earn up to 30,000 more bonus points by earning 2x points for every $1 spent on up to $15,000 in purchases for the first six months. This limited-time offer expires March 6.
- With the *world of hyatt business*, you can earn up to 75,000 World of Hyatt points total. You'll get 60,000 points after spending $5,000 within the first three months of account opening. Plus, you'll earn another 15,000 points after spending $12,000 in the first six months. This limited-time offer expires March 6.
With free night awards starting as low as 3,500 points, Hyatt points are the most valuable among the big hotel chains by far. But beyond the big bonus, these cards also come with valuable perks for Hyatt loyalists like complimentary elite status, an annual free night certificate starting in your second full year with the card, hotel credits, and more.
But no matter how good these offers are, just remember: Credit cards are serious business. No amount of points is worth going into debt, so if you can't afford to pay off your card balance in full every month, you should pass on both of these offers.

How Good Are These Offers?
They're both better than what you'd normally get. But one is clearly better than the other. And the offer on the personal Hyatt card is a bit deceiving.
While it's true that you can earn up to 65,000 points, some of those points aren't really a bonus at all. Since you'd ordinarily earn at least 1x World of Hyatt points for all your spending on the card, the additional point you get per dollar (for 2x points in total) by spending $15,000 over the first six months means you're really only getting an extra 15,000-point bonus – not the 30,000 extra points Chase is advertising.
Still, it's a (slightly) better offer than the typical bonus of up to 60,000 points and worth going after for the annual free night award alone. But it's far from the best offer we've ever seen from Hyatt on its personal card.
Assuming you're eligible for a small business credit card (and trust us, you just might be), the *world of hyatt business* is the much better option here.
With up to 75,000 ultra-valuable Hyatt points up for grabs, it's another 15,000 points than what you typically can earn … but only for those that can spend $12,000 in the first six months. If your business is able to responsibly spend an extra $7,000 in the first six months, now is a great time to apply for this card.

Using World of Hyatt Points
The World of Hyatt program has some of the best rates to book nightly stays using points of any hotel program, period.
While Hyatt's footprint is smaller than the likes of Hilton and Marriott, that is slowly changing. And thanks to partnerships with luxury and boutique brands, they have some amazing properties scattered all around the world that you can book using Hyatt points – including a luxury resort in the desert and a private island in the Carribbean.
Standard Hyatt award nights start at just 5,000 points per night for Hyatt Category 1 properties, and up to 40,000 points for Category 7 hotels like top-tier Park Hyatt locations in New York or Tokyo. A handful of top properties and small luxury resorts around the world are considered Category 8, which cost 40,000 points per night.

Hyatt has a ton of amazing values in its portfolio of properties that you can use points to book. This includes some of our favorite all-inclusive resorts like the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara all-inclusive resorts (and a growing number of other brands like Secrets and Dreams) that are scattered throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. If all-inclusive properties are your thing, these are some of the best resorts in the world that can be booked with points.
Hyatt handles the award chart for its all-inclusive properties a bit differently – the standard Category 1 through Category 8 award chart you'll find for Hyatt's regular hotels doesn’t apply here. Instead, Hyatt uses Category A through Category F to price these free nights at all-inclusive locations. Award rates range from 15,000 points to as much as 50,000 points per night standard night stay. Here's a look.
Of course, the top-of-the-line Park Hyatt hotels scattered throughout the world are a favorite as well, starting as low as 12,000 points per night depending on the location.
Hyatt also gives members the ability to book suites online using points, which opens up some extra value.

Are You Eligible to Open the World of Hyatt Credit Card?
Like all Chase credit cards, both World of Hyatt cards are subject to the Chase 5/24 Rule.
If you're not familiar, the 5/24 rule is a hard-and-fast restriction rolled out years ago to limit card applicants from opening credit cards for the sole purpose of earning bonus points. If you've heard of the phrase “churning,” that's exactly what this rule is designed to crack down on.
Here's what it boils down to:
- If you have opened five or more credit cards in the past 24 months from any bank credit card issuers (not just Chase cards), you will not be approved for Chase credit cards, regardless of your credit score or history with Chase Bank.
- The rule does not count credit inquiries, but rather new cards you have applied for and been approved.
So if you have opened five or more new credit cards in the past 24 months, you will likely not be approved for either of these cards – or any other Chase credit card, for that matter. It works a bit differently with Chase business cards, though: While you generally need to be under 5/24 in order to get approved for a small business credit card, getting approved won't add to your 5/24 count.
For that reason alone, we always suggest starting with Chase credit cards before focusing on cards issued by other banks. And that includes these Hyatt cards.
Bottom Line
The World of Hyatt Credit Card and the *world of hyatt business* are both excellent cards for any traveler who frequently stays at Hyatt properties … and even those who do so rarely.
They're both out with bigger, limited-time bonuses of up to 75,000 World of Hyatt points. But more importantly, they unlock some valuable perks at Hyatt properties like instant elite status, annual free night awards, and yearly hotel credits.
